Another life

Jill's post resonates with the dreams of what we could have been. I can definitely see Jill teach Alexander technique. I have a bit more problems seeing myself in the role I occasionally consider: becoming a hairdresser. Not that I think I would not enjoy it, but I know my back, after years of abuse, can't take it. What I haven't quite forgotten is the dream of being a goldsmith. One day perhaps I sell the house, take a year or two leave, and find a very different life for myself. I haven't forgotten Mary Ann Buckles.

Yeah, I think about that every time I read about Mary Ann Buckles. It's sad that academia didn't see the use of a game scholar in 1984 but perhaps she's perfectly happy as a massage therapist?
