Spy ship

spionskip, originally uploaded by Rotill.

Did somebody forget to tell the Russian trawlers that the cold war is over? A few nights ago this boat dropped off a passenger at the marina just below the house. The event looked like something out of a movie, it was oddly quiet and efficient and over in few minutes - boat disappearing into the mist.

Did you happen to see Sean Connery, Roger Moore or perhaps Pierce Brosnan lurking in the shadows? Because I've been told (by someone who merely calls him- or herself "DeepThroat II") that they were supposed to have a little meeting in the Gang Of Former Spies Club down at The Green Tree some time this month.

Actually, there was an effeminate figure by the car who might have been Roger More, but at least one of the persons carrying luggage off the small boat that touched shore at the marina looked more like A Looming Russian of A Brooding German.

Let me know if you see something suspucious looking at the Tree!

Another theory is that what I witnessed was smuggling, not of international secrets, but of alchohol. And imagine, I thought, innocently, that it was really just somebody going home after the public transport had stopped running! Can of course have been both...

I can imagine it: The ladylike, not-so-masculine-anymore Mr. Moore makes perfectly good use of his communication skills earlier that particular evening, to arrange a smooth under cover operation. Later, he gives you, and everyone else who witnesses the incident, the impression of himself being an ordinary ... well, not "Joe", but "Gunnar" coming home from having painted the town red - and at the same time he runs his smuggling business!
